Preventing UCL Injuries: Products That Are Career Savers


If you have been a baseball player, coach, or fan you are aware of the problems of UCL injuries in the game. Many baseball careers have been cut short due to the injuries caused by UCL injuries. While there have been problems, there is hope. Biomechanists and health professionals have come up with products that can prevent UCL injuries from happening. Today I'll be going over two of the many injury prevention products out on the market.

The first product is fairly new, it is called the FlexPro Grip. The FlexPro Grip is designed to strengthen the three bundles of the UCL, along with other benefits. Those UCL bundles are the anterior, transverse oblique, and the posterior. This product exercises and strengthens those three muscles. In addition to this, the FlexPro Grip product can strengthen the grip of the fingers. The benefit of this product is that it will increase exit velocity for hitters and pitching velocity for pitchers.

 The FlexPro Grip is a glove. This glove should be used before and after practices or games. This glove can also connect up with J-Bands for the athlete to enhance the workout on the UCL bundles. What the athlete will do to get the most out of this product is to do the series of tests that the FlexPro Grip group will send to you through the packaging of the product. After the athlete has sent in the information to the company, then the athlete will get a set of drills to do to prevent injury and get stronger. The athlete will re-test monthly in order to receive the most-accurate training needed for the athlete.

Another device that can help prevent UCL injuries is called Marc Pro. The Marc Pro has been around longer than the FlexPro Grip, therefore this product has a wider following. Currently, 200 professional baseball players are using the Marc Pro system.

The Marc Pro is a device that uses pads that are placed on any sore or painful muscles. These pads will pulse the areas that are sore in order to massage out the pain and prevent injuries. This product is used by nearly every Major League franchise this past season. In fact, many teams have gone away from the R.I.C.E. method. Gary Reinl the owner of Marc Pro, advocates to never use this method. Through his research and studies, Reinl came to the conclusion that the R.I.C.E method only damages the sore or injured area worse. Reinl suggests using the Marc Pro because it repairs the soreness and injured areas, instead of damaging those areas. The best time to use this device is after any athletic activity. The recommended time is between 30-60 minutes. For improved condition of the body, Marc Pro suggests that users use the device three times a week for 30 minutes.

With all of this information on injury prevention products, the athletes in the sport of baseball can take a sigh of relief. The game of baseball has never been safer, and the game will only improve safety procedures regarding injuries in the future. With new research studies and products entering the world every year, the game of baseball has never been brighter.
